In November 2024, President Donald Trump nominated Bondi to serve as attorney general after his original pick, former Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., withdrew from consideration. Bondi was elected Florida Attorney General on Nov. 2, 2010, and reelected Nov. 4, 2014. After leaving office, she joined Ballard Partners, a Washington D.C., lobbying company.
