Tucker Carlson video about Affordable Care Act subsidies was altered
Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson has been no friend to Democratic presidential administrations, so some social media users might be surprised to see a video in which Carlson appears to be advertising for the Affordable Care Act.
"Hey, it’s Tucker Carlson," Carlson appears to say in the video. "The government just announced the $7,000 health subsidy is ending in a few days. Citizens can claim what they’re owed by signing up for a free health insurance plan. The $7,000 health subsidy was announced earlier this year as part of the Affordable Care Act, providing low-income Americans with extra spending to use on things like groceries and any other bills they may have. Registration is ending in just a few days, so make sure to call in and claim your health subsidy before the deadline."

Featured Fact-check
The original video, which Carlson tweeted April 26, came two days after his abrupt firing from Fox News. He mentioned neither the Affordable Care Act nor a $7,000 subsidy.
The Affordable Care Act provides subsidies to lower premiums and out-of-pocket costs for some eligible Americans buying health insurance on the health insurance Marketplace. But there’s no $7,000 cash grab that’s ending soon via a link on Facebook.
