Get behind me, misinformation about Oreos: Elon Musk didn’t say they’re satanic

"Did you hear about Oreos being satanic?"

That’s what X owner Elon Musk appears to say in an interview with podcaster Joe Rogan in a video being shared on social media. 

"Like the cookies?" Rogan appears to say. 

"So, this might not be true but my favorite cookies are actually Oreos, right?" Musk appears to say. "And I didn’t even know this but Oreos are actually satanic. It’s only a theory so keep that in mind."

As images of Oreos appear, a voice that’s supposedly Musk’s describes the patterns on the cookies and claims one shows a satanic cross. 

"Will you stop eating Oreos or will you keep supporting a company that’s satanic and shows it right in front of your face?" Musk appears to say.

This video has been altered. The audio of Musk and Rogan supposedly discussing satanic Oreos doesn’t sync with the clips of their mouths moving. 

The footage of Musk comes from a 2020 interview on "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast. 

Homeownership, "deep brain stimulation," ice fishing and handwashing, are all listed on YouTube as key moments from the conversation. What’s not listed: satanic Oreos.

Although we found other social media posts like these Instagram posts of Musk telling Rogan that Oreos are satanic, we found no news reports to corroborate this.
